Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes conduct and content that are not allowed on HoundSquare. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service. By using HoundSquare you agree to follow this policy.
1. Prohibited content & conduct #
You may not use HoundSquare to post, host, or transmit content that:
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or misrepresents a business or its offerings.
- Infringes intellectual-property rights or violates the privacy of others (see our DMCA Policy for copyright claims).
- Is hateful, harassing, threatening, or incites violence or discrimination.
- Is sexually explicit, exploits minors, or is otherwise obscene.
- Promotes illegal goods or services, or activity prohibited by law.
- Contains malware, or is used for phishing, spamming, or other abuse.
You also may not: impersonate another person or business; create listings for businesses you are not authorized to represent; scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the platform; probe or circumvent our security; or interfere with the service's normal operation.
2. Enforcement actions #
When content or conduct violates this policy, we may take proportionate action, including: removing or unpublishing content, limiting feature access, suspending or terminating accounts, and reporting unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities. We may act with or without prior notice depending on the severity and the risk of ongoing harm.
3. Appeal process #
If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by emailing appeals@houndsquare.com within 30 days. Include your account email, the affected content or listing, and why you believe the action should be reversed. We will review appeals and respond with our decision. Reinstatement is at our discretion and subject to compliance with this policy and our Terms.
