Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of HoundSquare ("HoundSquare," "we," "us"), the local-business platform available at app.houndsquare.com and related surfaces. By using HoundSquare you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance #
By creating an account, claiming a business page, or otherwise using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you are using HoundSquare on behalf of a business, you represent that you are authorized to bind that business to these Terms.
2. Accounts & obligations #
You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your business listing truthful and current, and to promptly update details that become inaccurate. You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to maintain a business account.
3. Acceptable use #
Your use of HoundSquare is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Prohibited conduct includes posting unlawful content, impersonating others, scraping the platform, and interfering with its operation.
4. Payment terms #
HoundSquare offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Metered features (such as newsletter sends and AI-credit overage) are billed based on usage. You authorize us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method for all applicable fees. Taxes may apply.
5. Data ownership #
Businesses own their data. As between you and HoundSquare, you retain all rights to the business information, catalog, customer records, and other content you provide ("Your Data"). HoundSquare acts as a processor of Your Data on your behalf and processes it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export Your Data at any time and request its deletion.
6. Content license #
You grant HoundSquare a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute the content you publish, solely for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the service — for example, rendering your business page to consumers and including it in search results and discovery surfaces. This license ends when you remove the content or close your account, except for content already shared with others and for retained backups made in the ordinary course.
7. Warranty disclaimers #
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. HoundSquare does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability #
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HoundSquare will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the amounts you paid to HoundSquare in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Dispute resolution #

10. Governing law #
