CAN-SPAM Compliance Statement
HoundSquare sends several kinds of email. We design our email practices to comply with the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act and comparable rules, and we require businesses using our platform to do the same.
1. Business outreach #
We may send introductory outreach to businesses inviting them to claim a pre-built page. These messages identify HoundSquare as the sender, use accurate subject lines and headers, disclose their promotional nature, include our physical postal address, and provide a clear way to opt out of further outreach. We honor opt-out requests promptly and suppress future outreach to addresses that decline.
2. Newsletters #
Businesses can send newsletters to their own subscribers through HoundSquare. Every newsletter includes the sending business's identity and postal address and a working unsubscribe link. Businesses are responsible for only emailing recipients who have a lawful basis to be contacted, and for honoring unsubscribes. Our platform enforces the presence of unsubscribe controls on newsletter sends.
3. Transactional email #
Transactional and relationship messages — such as sign-in magic links, security alerts, receipts, and service notifications — are sent to facilitate a transaction or account you have with us or with a business on the platform. These messages are not promotional and are governed by your account and notification settings rather than by marketing opt-outs.
4. Unsubscribe #
Promotional and newsletter emails include a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect promptly. You can also manage notification preferences from your account settings. We do not charge a fee, require additional information beyond your email address, or make you take any step other than sending a reply email or visiting a single page to opt out.
